Lady Umbrella is a 'Ray of Sunshine!'

In this day and age of cookie cutter designs offered by Multi Billion dollar Big-Box stores, it is refreshing to stumble upon an absolutely unique Brand like Lady Umbrella!  It is paramount to waking up Christmas Morning and, amidst a sea of presents, finding that one special toy that you had never seen, but instantly became your all time favorite Toy.

LadyUmbrella is the brain child of a Spanish designer and a dreaming Entrepreneur, Elena Montes Casado and Robert Ryan.  Elena, who had lived most of her life in Madrid/Barcelona arrived in Ireland during the dark, wet, winter months of 07 and saw streets laiden with umbrellas. The quantity of umbrellas obscured and hid peoples faces - LadyUmbrella was born.  They started mid-2008 and spent 18 months developing their designs and brand.  After endless tinkering they arrived upon 6 designs which they were happy with which became their first collection of t-shirts which they launched on 20th of January 2010.

While the initial idea of the wet irish weather inspired Elena, she also draws inspiration from her love of surreal art, which essentially removes any limitations on her design work.  The tees that are used are all cut, sewn and tailored to their liking.  Each tee is unique and is signed by Elena herself.  These small touches transform the person who is wearing the tee from an average ordinary consumer into a walking artistic canvas.

The website is a delight to explore! It is an exceptional example to all t-shirt companies out there on how to make the shopping experience fun and interactive. Of course there are the required items on the webpage, but its dressed up in a very stylish, hip way. Many of the pictures expand to provide multiple views of the t-shirts. In the 'Gallery' section the tees are individually presented with the back story on the design idea and a variety of pictures. You could get lost in the site and relish every moment!

The philosophy of this Irish company is to 'Stay Happy.'  Isn't that something we could all stand to live by!!!  The designs tells a little story and are unique and fun.  You can almost feel joy jump out of the fabric!  They bring out a carefree element that is deep within us, but many times overshadowed by pesky little troubles in our lives.  These designs reawaken our sense of frivolity and fun and do so in a very fashionable way!!!
